Circular value creation requires not only new production processes but also solutions for tracking resources and products, as well as the establishment of circular business models. Within existing production and organizational systems, the interdependencies between various organizations, departments, strategic objectives, and business models must be taken into account. These challenges often hinder manufacturing companies from achieving a targeted transformation.
Therefore, the goal of the TRANSFORM-R research project is to develop a methodological decision-making framework that systematically captures and analyzes data from heterogeneous sources, specifically product, production, and market data. This enables informed decisions regarding end-of-use strategies within existing industrial structures. The framework encompasses design patterns for second-life-based value propositions and a system for assessing technical condition, thereby facilitating the selection of the most suitable "R-strategy." Furthermore, the framework includes approaches for managing diverse business model portfolios. The result is a hybrid platform architecture that integrates a wide range of IT infrastructures into a unified environment, enabling the data-driven evolution of business models and the implementation of circular value creation strategies.
