Project DIKRA addresses the key challenges facing the waste management industry as it transitions towards a circular bioeconomy. The goal is to position waste management companies as producers of secondary raw materials and pivotal players in closed-loop material cycles, while strengthening their role as central drivers of the circular bioeconomy in the long term.

The project focuses on analyzing success factors and further developing business models. It examines how companies can successfully integrate into new value creation networks and ecosystems, specifically addressing challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), e.g. with regards to resources, competencies, and regulatory frameworks. Based on these insights, practical tools are being developed and compiled into a toolbox to assist companies and decision-makers in implementing circular strategies. An interactive exhibition further serves to communicate the project results.
