Project D-AI-Y Milestone Meeting
More and more companies are offering AI-based software solutions (AI-as-a-Service (AIaaS)). This offers many advantages for customers: They save on the investment in their own AI infrastructure and can develop their own AI solutions based on the provided services and integrate them into their company.
Nevertheless, many AIaaS services fail to find buyers. The reason? The business models aren't a good fit. This is where the Do AI Yourself project (D-AI-Y) comes in:
Within the project, researchers from Ruhr University Bochum and TU Dortmund University are developing business model templates for AIaaS services that are specifically tailored to the needs of SMEs. The project results will be made available to interested companies in the form of a toolbox – an online portal designed to enable SMEs to integrate their own AIaaS services into their business models and offer them profitably.
Last week, the project partners met at ZESS for a consortium meeting to discuss project progress and work on developing the toolbox. They also welcomed two new project partners, Armbruster and InfoSim, who joined the project at the beginning of the year.
D-AI-Y is a joint research project of the Chair of Industrial Sales and Service Engineering at Ruhr University Bochum and the Chair of Enterprise Computing at TU Dortmund University. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
